I’m a climate and energy strategist with 35+ years spanning government, nonprofits, and consulting. To be clear, I’m not just a policy wonk: I thrive on guiding organizations and individuals through complexity, forging consensus, and turning big-picture ambition into concrete action.
As I reflect on my career, I’m proud to have:
- Built and led high-performing teams, and mentored talented staff who have gone on to do great things
- Supported 13 states and the District of Columbia in designing an innovative Northeast/Mid-Atlantic greenhouse-gas program focused on transportation decarbonization at the Georgetown Climate Center
- Advised multiple clients—including NRDC, Energy Foundation, Ceres, Resources for the Future, and the Canadian Electricity Association—on energy and climate policy
- Facilitated bipartisan stakeholder groups to develop recommendations for energy and climate legislation at the Bipartisan Policy Center
- Developed the landmark sulfur-dioxide cap-and-trade program at the U.S. EPA and advised governments worldwide on similar initiatives
- Served as a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), whose work was honored with the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize
Looking ahead, I’m eager to partner with organizations to meet climate and energy challenges through:
- Strategic planning and change-management facilitation
- Interim executive leadership that sustains momentum during transitions
- Coaching and mentoring to build resilient, collaborative teams
- Analytical insight that underpins effective advocacy
Outside of work, I love hiking, traveling, and music. I also volunteer with Lorenzo’s House—an organization close to my heart after witnessing the hope and support it provides families like my own facing younger-onset dementia.
